Fright Night 2013 at Movie World

No real spectacular pictures here, but wanted to share them anyways...  We had free tickets to Fright Night at Movie World so we took the kiddos.  We didn't know how scary it would be for them since it's recommended for ages 14 and up, but the girls have a good understanding of what Halloween is all about and that it's fun to be scared, so compared to other Australian children their ages I figured it wouldn't freak them out to bad and I was right.... haha they had a blast!  They had all kinds of creepy "actors" walking around.  Lots of zombies and demons...  Lilah's favorites were the caged catwomen that were dancing outside of Club Blood and the female zombies.  Emmy said she was a vampire and Lilah said she was a dead girl but we went in minimum dress up since it was going to be a late night.  Out of the four haunted houses Emmy picked the Evil Dead ..... I don't watch horror movies, but I think it was based on a film?  Here's the Movie World advertisement for it.... Kim carried Emmy and I held Lilah.... we made it through with lots of screams and no tears.  At the end Emmy was pretty proud of herself and would have gone through another one, but Lilah said one was enough haha

This was in the scooby doo roller coaster... she's such a ride junkie.  She wants to ride this one over and over!

Lilah's favorite!

Eating their Jello Shot hahah

Daddy teasing her to take her big shot haha

Lilah with her blinking headband!

Emmy picked a blinking sword that I'm sure will be used for evil later on against her sister.
Lilah rocking her the blood tattoo's that Grandma Jan sent!!  I told her to show me her "dead girl" face and this is what she did lol

Trick or Treat Party 2013

We had so much fun on October 31st this year.  I totally dropped the ball and didn't get pictures of our pumpkins, all our decorations, or all of our guests but I did manage to snap a few photo's and here they are!  We had a full garage and driveway of Halloweeners, sweet treats, and spooky music.  Emmy was Frankie Stein from Monster High and Lilah was a Rainbow and I was Rarity the Unicorn.  Daddy didn't dress up, but he would have made a good Grinch!

Emerson's 1st Art Class

*ART*

I think being creative and artistic is important and giving my children the tools necessary to fully express themselves is important.  It broke my heart to find out there there isn't a specific art class away from normal class time in the primary schools here.

Art Class was always my favorite day of the week from Kindergarten right through to High School!  I was so excited for Emmy to have the opportunity to join in a before school Art Class for an additional fee this term.  She was the youngest in the class (mixed in with upto grade 6 & 7's) but as you'll see at the bottom in the note from her Art Teacher..... she held her own great!  Totally love my creative little girls!  Below are some of the things that she brought home.... there's a few that I didn't photograph since they were practice pieces, but there is a doggie oil pastel picture that I need to still get photographed....

Free drawing fish with different techniques and tools to color them in.

Learning quick ways to draw kitties using oil pastels!

I love this one!  They used paint markers to embellish and do graffiti art over a photograph!

This was about blending different colors with different styles.

She was very proud of her mask! It's obviously grapes and leaves :)

This was made from scratch for Father's Day!  It's a paper weight that looks like daddy!  She put rocks together and used papier-mâché over it to form the head and them decorated it.  I totally love this one!!!

First Day of Art Class- Working on Oil Pastel Dogs

Here's a nice message from Emmy's Art Teacher:

Hello,
Emerson is just the cutest little girl.
So lovely and definitely not intimidated in class.
She is extremely artistic and has a definite style and technique which is especially evident in her sketching ability. She was absorbed in every art activity and had no problem expressing herself.
She was not threatened by the age of the other children and they were really lovely with her.
I look forward to seeing her anytime she feels ready to return.

Kindest regards,
Art Teacher

Grandma Jan & Grandpa Kingsley Visit

Grandma Jan and Grandpa Kingsley are up for a visit and I can't remember the last time I got a great photo of them with the kids so I took the opportunity to head to my new favorite photo spot and snap a few....
